Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) provides options for parties to settle their cases by working outside the courtroom.  These options may save parties time and money while resulting in a mutually agreeable decision.  The ADR Program of the Fifth Judicial Circuit includes Mediation, Non-Binding Arbitration, Parenting Coordination, and Eldercaring Coordination.

Non-Binding Arbitration

The court’s registry on arbitrators pursuant to Florida Rules of Arbitration 11.010, 11.020, 11.110.

Eldercaring Coordination

Eldercaring Coordination is a dispute resolution process during which an eldercaring coordinator assists elders, legally authorized decision-makers, and others who participate by court order or invitation to resolve disputes.

Mediation

Mediation is often mandated in a civil or family case before a case is allowed to go to trial. This gives the parties an opportunity to settle the case before going to trial saving both time and money.

Parenting Coordination

Parenting coordination provides an alternative dispute resolution process whereby an impartial third person called a parenting coordinator assists the parties in developing or implementing their parenting plan.
